Anchor Porter | 5.6%
The San-Francisco based Anchor Brewery are famed for utilising their ‘steam brewing’ technique: using high temperatures, wide, shallow pans and bottom fermenting yeast to produce unique beers. Anchor Porter is no exception. This modern 5.6% porter has a rich flavour with strong notes of chocolate, toffee and coffee. An excellent beer to try if you are a regular Guinness drinker.

Brooklyn EIPA | 6.8%
The New York based Brooklyn Brewery are part of a new wave of American breweries which are restoring the States’ brewing reputation world-wide. This take on a British IPA has a hoppy finish, bitter base and a refreshing citrus kick.

Goose Island Honker's Ale | 4.3%
Another member of the new wave, Goose Island make use of old whisky barrels to specially condition their beers. Their flagship beer, Honker’s Ale, is a typical fruity and malty British-style ale brewed in Chicago, whilst their take on the classic wheat beer, 312, is lighter and sweeter with a fruity touch.

Flensburger Pils | 4.8%
Flensburger Pils is simply a pilsener lager of the highest quality, produced by the independent and family-run Flensburger Brauerei, which is still based in Shleswig-Holstein to this day. Drinking Flens has become part of the Northern German identity.

Früh Kölsch | 4.8%
Kölsch is a top-fermented lager-type beer exclusively brewed in the city of Cologne and protected by Appellation Controlée. This crisp and neat beer is a little more hoppy and sweeter than a regular lager, however. We stock Küppers and Früh’s kölschs - which are two of only the handful of major breweries still producing the beer.

Küppers Kölsch | 4.8%
Kölsch is a top-fermented lager-type beer exclusively brewed in the city of Cologne and protected by Appellation Controlée. This crisp and neat beer is a little more hoppy and sweeter than a regular lager, however. Schneider Aventinus | 8.2%
Schneider are famous for producing classic Bavarian wheat beer (as well as often being credited with saving wheat beer from extinction at during the 19th Century, after a decline in sales), and have been using the same recipe since 1907 for their Schneider Original - which has strong essences of clove, nutmeg and apple. Their Aventinus beer is a more robust, darker and stronger wheat beer, more suited for drinking with roast meats and hearty meals.

Delirium Tremens | 8.5%
The Browerij Huyghe produces one of the most distinct beers in the whole world: Delirium Tremens. DT, voted the best Beer in the World 1998, is a sweet and fruity strong Belgian Ale. It is said that if you drink your your first DT in one you enter into the Order of the Pink Elephant and that after drinking a few DTs you do indeed see pink elephants. However, as a reputable drinking establishment, we at Larkin’s do not condone such behaviour!

La Guillotine | 8.5%
The Browerij Huyghe also produces La Guillatine, which was produced in 1989 to celebrate the bicentennial of the French Revolution. This Belgian Ale is a little sweeter and has hints of bubblegum with a sour kick.

Duvel | 8.5%
The world famous Duvel is one of Belgium’s most successfully exported beers and is often seen to set the benchmark for other Beligan Strong Ales. Utilising Scottish hops, Duvel is a relatively light crisp and easy to drink beer, with a fruity edge. Its name comes from the local Flemish for ‘devil’, owing to the drink’s strength and more-ishness.

Kwak | 8.4%
Kwak is perhaps more famous for its yard-of-ale style glass than for the beer itself (which is so unique that it is not unusual in Belgium to leave your left shoe behind the bar as collateral whilst drinking), though this fame doesn’t do this deliciously caramelly and malty beer justice.

La Chouffe | 8.0%
Owned by the Duvel Moortgat brewery, the characterful Ardennes based Brasserie d’ Achouffe produces its original fruit-edged, easy drinking, coriander spiced, lightly hopped unfiltered blonde beer ‘La Chouffe’ to great acclaim.

Houblon Chouffe | 9.0%
If IPAs are to your taste, the brasserie also brews ‘Houblon Chouffe’, a playful Belgian attempt at the style, which is more bitter than their flagship beer, but carries a fruity edge.

Tripel Karmeleit | 8.4%
The Bosteels brewery produces Tripel Karmeliet alongside Kwak. This thick, rather syrupy and sweet Belgian strong ale originates from a recipe written in 1679 at the Carmelite monastery in Dendermone – oh, and it was voted the ‘World’s Best Ale’ in 2008.

Maredsous Blonde | 6.0%
Maradsous Blonde is simply a superbly executed classic blonde ale with a delicate aroma and clean, crisp taste brewed by the Duvel Moortgat brewery.

Orval | 6.2%
Orval is a simply fascinating beer. It originates from a Cistercian Monastery which has been in full use since 1070 (with all the proceeds from Orval still going to monastic upkeep). The monks employed a renowned German master brewer, Mr Pappenheimer, who used unusually English techniques to produce a beer than relies more on yeast than malts for flavour – resulting in a beer which matures with age more than most; younger Orvals have a pronounced bitterness. They are fruity and hoppy, whilst older Orvals have a slightly more caramelly and citric edge.

Corsendonk Agnus | 7.5%
This Belgian Abbey-Style pale ale is lighter than your average Trippel, and rather more dry and perfumed. This leads to a particularly easy-to-drink and yet strong beer which should be savoured slowly.

Chapeau Mirabelle | 3.5%
Wambeek, a small and independent producer located near Brussels, has achieved international fame with its range of delicious lambic fruit beers. This plum beer was originally produced for the Mirabelle Festival in Metz.

Grimbergen Blonde | 6.7%
The Brasserie Union has burned down several times in its history – leading to it’s flagship beer’s phoenix label and the motto ‘Burned but not destroyed’. The Union’s persistence must say something about their love for their most famous beer – Grimbergen Blonde, which, with its gently alcoholic spiced citrus taste, is an excellent abbey beer.

Kasteel Triple | 11.0%
At 11% ABV, it's our strongest beer on sale; you'd better be careful when you turn to Kasteel Triple! With its light notes of apples and assorted spices, as well as a honey-like texture and a full body, Kasteel hides its strength well. Named after the castle of Ingelmunster, Kasteel is not a beer to be passed up.

Silly Saison | 5.0%
You'd be silly to skip the deep nutty-brown body of Silly Saison and to leave behind her sweet caramel and peachy flavour. Mildly bitter and lightly carbonated, Silly is not as earth as some saisons, but a great beer all the same.

Little Creatures Pale Ale | 5.2%
Little Creatures, which takes its name from a Talking Head’s song that refers to action of live yeast, is a preservative and additive free American style pale ale. It is crisp, citrus and has a slightly herbal finish resulting in a great session beer.

Coopers Pale Ale | 4.5%
When this ‘live’ pale ale was first brewed in colonial Australia by the Cooper family of East Yorkshire it was thought to be so pure than doctors regularly recommended it as a remedy to a long list of ailments. As far as we know, Hull General Hospital doesn’t provide Cooper’s on prescription, but if you want a excellent and yeasty classic pale ale, then you have came to right place.
Freedom Lager

This lovely draft lager comes from the Staffordshire-based Freedom micro-brewery with their own limestone water spring. This pure Burton water, filtered over millions of years through layers of natural alabaster, is rightly acknowledged to be amongst the best brewing water in the world, on part with the famous waters of Pilsen itself.
Larkin's Bar is one of the few establishments in Hull to supply Freedom.
A combination of the best quality ingredients and optimum maturation period ensures Freedom Lagers are satisfyingly full of flavour.
Freedom Four
Freedom Four is a 4.0% abv Helles pale lager.
Hopped with a combination of British First Gold and Hallertau Perle, Freedom Four has an initial sweetness that slides into a hoppy bitter finish. Mid-weight body and great smoothness ensure it's easy-drinking, while lively natural carbonation refreshes through to a crisp finish.
Please note that we no longer sell Freedom Organic lager.

We sell cask ales from 3 breweries: Wold Top, Great Newsome and Cottage Brewing.
Wold Top
The Wold Top brewery has farmed 600 acres on the Yorkshire wolds for generations, producing some of Yorkshire's best real ales and winning several awards. More
Great Newsome
The Great Newsome brewery is situated on the East Yorkshire coast, near Hull, and have been brewing and farming for four generations. More
Cottage Brewing
A little further in distance, set in rural Somerset, the Cottage Brewing company was founded by Chris and Helen Norman within their very own garden. More
